The Tullochs that had been used at Petersham Rail Training Centre for as long as I can remember were replaced with a V-set. For some reason the temporary track laid for this movement did no extend to the mainline (ie the down local), so the carraiges were transferred over by the recovery group, whose normal task is to recover derailed trains.

Went with a few mated to chase the Cockatoo run, and see what else we could snap while we're there.

NSWRTM ran some shuttles between Picton and Campbelltown, stopping at Menangle Park (where the show was).

The NSWRTM ran a double headed steam train to Bundanoon for the annual scottish festival "Brigadoon in Bundanoon". I only took a few pics of it, from Picton and Tahmoor

On a wet Easter Saturday I headed to Maldon, more to fill in time than anything. Also here is my first attempt at a banner for Railbastard.

After a significant period of down time Steam loco 3642 was returned to service with a mystery tour on 1/3/08. These photos are of the empty trip from Thirlmere to picton - the first two were taken about 15 minutes before sunrise at Picton, the last near Menangle.

I went to Waterfall to get some pics of the XPT, but it came just as I arrived so my pics aren't great, and I only included one here. On the way home I stopped off at Revesby to get some pics of the work going on there. The footbridge was closed, so they are all taken from the streets around the station.

Went down to Stanwell park to catch a pic of an XPT out of it's normal stamping grounds. Got my XPT pic, stayed for a while until it started raining.

Over the weekend of December 8-9, 2007, the NSWRTM took the Southern Aroura carraiges, with a new dining car, and hauled by 4306 and 422?? on two south coast trips. The first photo is of the empty train en route from Thirlmere to Sydney (This was taken by luck - I was actually at the station to go into the city), the others are taken a few kilometers south of waterfall on the Sunday, coming back to Sydney.
